1and1 hosting is probably one of those hosts you have looked at time and time again, but the price always seemed to be a bit high, or you may have also read reviews that lead you to believe they oversell their servers, that was all true – up until a couple years ago.
It always seemed to us they had all the tools to be a great host, but never could figure out a good balance between price and accounts per server.
Nowadays they seem to have stuck a pretty good balance, that doesn’t mean they don’t still have their problems, but they are doing a much better job at the balancing act these days.

Our Opinion Of 1and1 Web hosting
These guys have been around for quite some time, which says something about the services they offer, but that being said we’ve never really been all that impressed with them. All in all they are a good web hosting service.
The Good 
Extremely popular with more experienced webmasters, top of the line connection, friendly customer support. Lots of plans to choose from.
The Bad
Price is one of the major drawbacks to hosting with 1and1.

I agree, they are not the worst, but they are far from the best hosting company. Price is a tad high, and support leaves a little to be desired. This web host is not a top 10 web hosting company.
